Overview
For a long time Africa was regarded as the Mecca for wildlife. However, more recently, the natural wealth of the Indian sub-continent has been increasingly recognised and the country now offers tourists, naturalists and researchers a fascinating alternative. Home to a rich diversity of life, the Indian sub-continent is a veritable Eden for nature lovers and researchers alike. Today the country is under siege from one fifth of humanity and yet remarkably it survives in all its diverse forms, especially the forests of Madhya Pradesh, the ‘Tiger State’ of India.
During this trip you will enjoy game drives by guided vehicle and, subject to park permission, will also have the chance to view wildlife from elephant-back. In the evenings there will be opportunities for discussions with Stephen and the local guides to further enhance your knowledge and gain a greater insight. This trip is primarily tiger focussed but we hope you will enjoy viewing their prey species, birds and other mammals that the parks support.
