CONGO AND C.A.R LOWLAND GORILLA AND FOREST ELEPHANT TOUR
Forest Elephants, Lowland Gorillas Trekking
Overview
Discovery Initiatives, in conjunction with the Wildlife Conservation Society and the World Wildlife Fund for Nature are offering you the chance to explore the original heart of darkness, stepping deep into the virgin rainforest of the Congo basin. The forest clearings of Ndoki (Congo) and Dzangha Sangha (CAR) are a unique feature that allow you observe some of the largest concentration of elephants in Africa and track the elusive lowland gorillas alongside experienced wildlife experts from the WCS and WWF. This tour also allows you the chance to spend time with the indigenous Ba'Aka community who live in the forest itself, learning about their relationship with the flora and fauna in the region. Whilst most places on Earth have long since been explored, the forests of Congo and the Central African Republic have remained wild and out of reach, home to some of the world’s best kept wildlife secrets.
“Plenty of variety. All the people in the field worked hard to give us the best trip! Rod Cassidy, EXCELLENT.
