Our Mission
Our mission is to use Wildlife Tourism to fund conservation.
We do this by offering inspirational small group and tailor made journeys, which combine the highest standard of service, accommodation and expertise to the best wilderness regions in the world, in support of some of the world’s leading wildlife and conservation institutions and organisations.
At present, we are also unique in the travel business, as we aim to offer better and fairer trading partnerships with the agencies, service providers and local communities you visit as part of your journey. Hence, your journey provides the economic, ethical and environmental incentives to conserve such areas for future generations.
Increasingly we recognize that wilderness and the wildlife within it is coming under progressively more pressure from deforestation, population pressure, poaching, habitat destruction and tourism related pressures.
Therefore Discovery Initiatives takes an active and leading role in advocating, both through our own practices, but also through the media and greater public roles, ways to find better and more sustainable business, environmental and social practices and partnerships to support its long term health, and of course our own business survival and future.
The future of tourism and travel needs to change. We aim to challenging the conventional approach to wildlife and wilderness travel and tourism.
