Kolipaka Srinivas Shekhar

Shekhar's field locations include the cloud forest of the Indo-Burma region, the Upper Himalaya, the central Indian dry forests, moist forests of the eastern ghats and the rainforests of the western ghats. He is involved in research to establish ways to monitor populations of wild cats on a long term project in the Panna Tiger Reserve Region. His work in central India has contributed to understanding the current status and threats for the species survival of the rare Indian caracal and the rusty spotted cat. 

Shekhar is associated with the IUCN Cat Specialist Group and a host of national and international researchers in conducting research in India.

He has recently completed a field guide to spotting signs and tracks in the wild.
