DAN FREEMAN

Dan Freeman

Dan Freeman, who began his career working on Australian birds for London's Natural History Museum, has been a writer, producer and director on some 40 wildilfe documentaries, including man-eating tigers of the Sundarbans of India and Bangladesh, piranhas in the Llanos of Venezuela, elephants in Botswana and pandas in China. He has published five books and is currently writing a semi-autobiographical account of his encounters with people and wildlife around the world.

Inspired by listening to Jim Corbett's man-eating stories on the radio, the young Dan saved up his pocket money and bought all the books. He reads them today as avidly as he did then. 'If I as much as glance at a page I am hooked, compelled to forget what I am meant to be doing until I have followed the unfolding and beautifully written drama to its inevitable end.'
