ALEX MUDD
Alex Mudd
Fostered by a childhood in the West Indies, the travel bug bit Alex early. He's travelled to over 45 countries across 7 continents, counting Arctic, Antarctica, Galapagos, Bolivia, Japan, Burma, Australia and Argentina as possibly his favourites. Having cut his backpacking teeth in Africa and The Middle East, upon graduation he generously awarded himself a second gap year to South-East Asia, Japan and Australasia, ending up in South America.
Stunnned by its richness and diversity, Latin America became something of an obsession before his wildlife and polar cruising experience. Buying dynamite in Bolivia, tracking jaguar in Brazil’s Pantanal, cruising around Old Havana in a 1950's classic car, galloping across the rolling Patagonia steppes and snorkelling with Whale Sharks off Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula are some of his other memorable recent experiences.
Today Alex is responsible for our Polar Cruising programmes and focuses on Antarctica, Alaska and the Arctic.
