Fabulous trekking opportunities in the Andes
A Peru holiday offers the opportunity to combine three different environments in one, Amazon, Andes and Coast
A rich and fascinating culture, with extraordinary history and staggering monuments
Real ‘biodiversity’ hotspot for nature lovers
Inca Culture, Extraordinary colour and Superb nature
Holiday in Peru and find what was the home of the extraordinary and resplendent Inca Empire, centred on their great capital Cuzco, which today still boasts some of the finest archaeology and architecture in the Americas. Rich in tradition and art, but with wildlife that is too often overlooked, any tailormade tour of Peru can offer a magnificent blend of ancient history, colourful culture, high mountain scenerey and Amazonian wildlife.
A Peru escorted tour encompasses the Andes Mountains, the Amazon Jungle, the desert plains and the towering snow-capped volcanoes. Here too live the llama, the condor, the piranha and the jaguar.
Rising from Peru’s desert is the world’s highest sand dune, cutting through its mountains is the world’s deepest canyon, resting on its lofty plains is the world’s highest navigable lake and hiding in its rainforest is the world’s highest concentration of flora and fauna.
Inhabited by diverse cultures, a tailormade Peru holiday offers a wealth of archaeological treasures. In the desert are the extraordinary lines etched by the Nasca people, on the coast lies the vast adobe city of the Chimu kings and most famously, in the jungle, hides the ancient citadel of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Trekking in Peru is fascinating, with a huge number of less trampled treks, lasting from one day to 7 days, than just the ‘classic’ 4 day Inca Trail.
In addition, A Peru holiday offers charming colonial towns founded by the Spanish Conquistadors, the floating reed islands of the Aymara Indians and the traditional terraced farms of the Quechua communities.
Let us put together an inspired handmade tour of Peru culture and landscapes to suit your interests and wanderlust.

Best times to take a holiday in Peru
There are three distinct climatic zones. The high Andes plateau, which can get cold at night the higher you go, the humid rainforests where rain can occur at all times of year but most heavily from November to February and the dry coastal plains on which Lima is built where minimal rainfall occurs. The Andean high plateau’s rainy season is minimal but principally from December to March.
Visas and Health
EU, US, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand citizens can all visit Peru as tourists without a visa. However, the situation does change periodically, so always check. Your passport must have a minimum validity of six months. Regarding vaccines and medical requirements, we recommend that you consult a medical practitioner. Malaria is prevalent in the rainforest.
Trekking fitness and acclimatisation
Prepare to acclimatise slowly and beware of sunstroke in high regions. If trekking reasonable fitness is required to enjoy the experience, especially the more challenging treks.
Our representatives, ground agents, and accommodation providers in each country are chosen for their commitment to responsible tourism and more specifically their commitment to wildlife conservation, where this is possible. Our agents have also signed our own Best Practice Codes to Conduct.
Taking your holiday in Peru with us will contribute to this ongoing support, but we also support the Rainforest Concern charity who have a project in Peru to conserve high altitude Andean forest, through your travels with us.
Furthermore some of our trekking in Peru contributes to a small medical project in the village in which you trek, as part of our ground agents own partnership with these remote regions.
Joining us is one step closer to an altogether better holiday.
On your Peru holiday you will travel with superb bilingual guides and enjoy the best naturalists (and often wildlife researchers)in the wilderness regions you visit with us.
Our ground agents and regional representatives are chosen to ensure that we do not compromise on this expertise and experience.
Our aim is always to give you real insight into the natural world, as well as combining this with learning about the extraordinary history and culture of Peru.
