  • Travel to one of the world’s least visited and most pristine destinations

  • Incredible landscapes, gigantic icebergs & spellbinding Northern Lights with opportunity to see arctic wildlife including musk oxen & arctic hare

  • Travel by small ice strengthened vessel offering a very intimate and personalised experience, with excellent expeditionary staff

  • A wilderness journey for people who do not like conventional cruises!

Voyage on a comfortable ice-strengthened vessel to venture into a white world populated by musk ox, Arctic foxes and reindeer roaming the vast snowy wilderness.

Greenland is the largest island in the world, located where the Atlantic meets the Arctic Ocean, and therefore surrounded by cold ocean currents. Nevertheless, it is home to an array of Arctic animals found nowhere else on earth with eight species of whale including Bowheads, pods of Narwhals or ‘Unicorn Whales’ and Beluga or ‘White Whales’. On this Arctic cruise enjoy watching Musk Oxen, Arctic Hares, Arctic Wolves and a spectacular variety of birds in the day and at night watch the spectacular Northern lighst on clear skies. It is inhabited by less then 100,000 Inuit people, with a fascinating history and culture.

Our Greenland cruises focus on East and Northeast Greenland, among the most isolated, sparsely populated and scenically superb parts of the island. Fortunately, from the wildlife enthusiast’s point of view, they are also the most rewarding regions with regular sightings on this Arctic expedition of Musk Oxen, Arctic Hares, Narwhals and a variety of birds. Access to this highly indented and ruggedly mountainous coast is dependent on ice conditions.

For much of the year, the region is locked in by pack ice, which by late summer has broken up sufficiently to allow vessels such as ours the chance to penetrate and explore places like the world’s largest fyord, massive icebergs, and Ammassalik, the ‘cultural capital’ of East Greenland.

Based on comfortable ice strengthened vessels, with only 50 passengers, proves ideal for these Arctic expeditions. Based as often as possible on foot and moving with small Zodiac craft between landing spots for viewing the variety of arctic animals and wildlife, this is the finest way to explore the Arctic region, and its utter wilderness, peace and colour.

Furthermore a contribution to Birdlife International’s ‘Save the Albatross Campaign’ is also made, with monies being used to protect the rapidly declining Albatross species – due in part to long line fishing in the Polar regions.

Absolutely fantastic trip. Our highlight was seeing Polar bears with cubs crossing sea ice.
