Tanzania is one of the world’s great safari destinations. Within it’s borders lies Africa’s highest mountain, the worlds largest intact volcanic caldera,and one of Africa’s most famous National parks, and Africa’s largest game reserve. Home to over 120 ethnic tribes, it is an incredible country. However, it is the wildlife that people come to see. Over 25% of the country is protected and this in turn protects approximately 20% of Africa’s large mammals.
Safaris in Tanzania are usually split into two area’s – the northern circuit, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Lake Manyara and Tarangire and the southern circuit, centred around Selous and Ruaha.
Best times to travel are between the long and short rains, June to October and January and February.
