UGANDA
Uganda Gorilla Safaris, Gorilla Trekking
Given its location and hugely diverse habitat, from open savannah, snow-capped mountains, semi-desert and of course Afro-montane forest, Uganda can offer some incredible wildlife experiences. The country has some of the richest primate habitats in Africa and trekking mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in lush, prehistoric rainforests is one of the highlights of any trip here.
However, Uganda is also considered by many to be the best bird watching destination in Africa and with over 1000 species recorded and several bird-rich habitats that are hard to reach elsewhere, even those with little interest in bird will find the colourful turaco’s and the elusive shoebill a real treat. There are also more traditional plains game to be found in Uganda’s National Park, where you find lions that climb trees, chimpanzee’s in gorges and handsome Ugandan Kob as well as 1200 species of butterflies, some of the largest crocodiles on the Nile and a huge number of chameleons means that Uganda is one of the most colourful and alluring wildlife destinations.
