The Macaw Recovery Project at Manu Wildlife Centre is committed to reversing the declining numbers of large macaws across much of Central and South America. By providing security at two large macaw clay licks to prevent poaching and patrolling, patrolling to prevent the destruction of macaw nesting trees and by hanging artificial nest boxes for macaws using PVC pipes, the local macaw populations have increased.
