MASHATU TENT CAMP

Mashatu Tent Camp

Camp
It’s not unusual to see a family of warthog around the 7 comfortable tents which each have private en-suite facilities, including an open air shower. There is an open sided thatch deck where meals are served and a traditional boma for intimate camp fire dinners. The camp also has an animal hide for keeping a watchful eye over the bird and animal life which visit the nearby waterhole.

Wildlife
This is the land of the giants – so named because it is home to seven of Africa’s giants – the elephant, the lion, the giraffe, the baobab tree, the eland, the ostrich and the kori bustard.

Activities
Game drives and bush walks. Additional, optional activities include ivory and archaeology drives, predator research drives, walking safaris and for the more adventurous, there are mountain bike and horse safaris on offer.

Eco-credentials
Join Jeanetta, the resident elephant specialist on an ivory and archaeology drive to gain insight into the Tuli elephant dynamics and behaviour. Andrei Snyman offers predator drives where you can spend time learning about the elusive leopard, while simultaneously funding his research project which plays an important role in leopard conservation.
