The Professor Molchanov is ideally suited for expedition cruising, with ice-strengthened hulls and passive stabilisers. Originally used for polar and oceanographic research, it was then converted for passenger use and fully refurbished. This vessel accommodates a maximum of only 52 passengers in twin and triple cabins, with a choice of en suite or shared bathroom facilities. The public areas include two interconnecting dining rooms, a lounge/ bar/ library, infirmary and sauna. It has a Russian crew of 23, with European chefs to prepare varied international cuisine.
